Barhanovich loses in match play
DUPONT -- Brian Barhanovich of Everett was defeated by Josh Anderson of Murrieta, Calif., 4 and 3, during the second round of match play at the Pacific Northwest Golf Association's Men's Amateur Championship on Thursday at The Home Course.
Barhanovich, a member of the Western Washington University golf team, fell behind when Anderson birdied the second hole and was never able to draw back to even. Anderson was 1 up through seven holes and then pulled away by winning the next three holes, including birdies on two par 5s. He finished with birdies on six of the 15 holes played.
Anderson later won in the round of 16 with a 5 and 4 decision against James Sacheck of The Woodlands, Texas, to reach today's quarterfinals.
