Dozens and dozens served: Top Pot Doughnuts, the pastry darling of Seattle, is making its first move into Snohomish County by setting up shop in the University Book Store in Mill Creek. Co-founder Matt Klebeck says the company intends on keeping its focus in the Puget Sound area: “We’ve always said we want to be the Dick’s burgers of doughnuts.”
Good plan, but we’re skipping the cake doughnut with the Dick’s tartar sauce glaze.
Not so fast: Snohomish County is going after traffic ticket scofflaws who think they can game the system by requesting a hearing and counting on beating the ticket on procedural grounds. The prosecutor’s office has hired an attorney to handle civil infractions.
Drivers are free to use as a defense: “But, your honor, I was speeding because I just heard they opened a Top Pot in Mill Creek.” Sleep on it: How well couples sleep can affect their relationship, day and night, reports a study by the University of Arizona. Men who slept well rated their relationship better the next day, while women who fought with their husband found neither they nor their spouse got a good night’s sleep. All of which confirms two great truths of a good marriage: Don’t go to bed angry. And don’t wake up grumpy; just let her sleep.
