Earn an MBA degree at EvCC on weekends
EVERETT Western Washington University plans to bring a weekend masters degree in business administration to Everett next year.
Classes would begin in January at Everett Community Colleges University Center.
The program was approved by the states Higher Education Coordinating Board in June.
Classes will be alternating Fridays and Saturdays and take 24 months to finish.
We believe it is important to give place-bound Snohomish County residents another choice for quality business education, Brian Burton, dean of WWUs College of Business and Economics, said in a press release.
Western did extensive research of its own graduates living in the area and of local business leaders, said Christine Kerlin, executive director for the University Center of North Puget Sound, which brings upper-division and graduate programs to Everett Community College and other sites.
The program in Everett will be closely connected to the Bellingham campus, she said.
The faculty they will be using and the curriculum they will use has a very strong home base, which I like, Kerlin said.
Potential students should begin the testing and application process this summer.
The weekend MBA program joins a growing list of Western programs at University Center, including bachelors degrees in environmental science and planning and environmental policy, bachelors degrees in elementary education and human services, a masters degree in rehabilitation counseling, and a masters degree in teaching that starts this summer.
