Tickets are about to go on sale for Bumbershoot 2009, the annual Seattle festival that hits Seattle Center during Labor Day Weekend.
While the festival offers literary and artistic diversions, the big draw is again the music. The festival’s line-up is a fairly even mix of indie favorites and chart-toppers — for every Black Eyed Peas or Sheryl Crow, there’s a Franz Ferdinand or a Matt & Kim.
Regional favorites are also featured, with the biggest name by far being Issaquah’s own Modest Mouse, who plan to release an eight-song EP of new material on Aug. 4..
Prices for Bumbershoot will go up on Aug. 22, with three-day passes jumping from $80 to $120 and single day tickets going from $35 to $50. So seriously people: buy tickets early if you plan to go.
There’s also a bunch of other shows going on sale this week - Pearl Jam, people, Pearl Jam. Quite a few have presales also.
