EVERETT – A search was under way late Sunday for a woman missing from an assisted living home.

The 45-year-old woman was last seen about 5 p.m. having dinner on the porch at her assisted care home in the 12300 block of 26th Avenue West, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Lt. Rick Hawkins said. She suffers from dementia and apparently wandered off.

People at the home discovered she was missing about 7 p.m., Hawkins said. They spent about an hour looking for her before calling for help.

The woman has no family in the area, he said.

Deputies were on scene about 11 p.m. and search teams were on the way. Sheriff’s investigators were trying to determine how to best conduct the search, Hawkins said.

“We’ll have to keep looking,” he said.

The woman is described as Filipino; 4 feet, 4 inches tall; and weighing about 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing pink clothes with a floral design.
