Boeing sees no further aircraft production rate cuts

Despite accomodating 70 aircraft deferrals in the second quarter, Boeing doesn't think it will need to slow jet production rates.

Earlier this year, the company said it would slow production of the 777 next year. That decision remains unchanged. However, Boeing doesn't believe it will need to cut rates on its other aircraft, including the 737.

Boeing already received 60 jet delivery deferral requests in the first quarter.

But Boeing's Jim McNerney said the rate of deferral requests has slowed, giving the company reason to believe it can hold production rates steady.

Boeing's still on track to reduce its total workforce by 10,000 this year.

Also, KIRO shot this video of the 787 yesterday. It shows the area where Boeing is looking to fix.
