This theme of the free public event is Battle of Britain Day since both aircraft played a pivotal role in World War II. The Spitfire is often credited with winning the Battle of Britain, although Hurricanes shouldered most of the burden and destroyed more enemy aircraft than any other fighter in the Battle of Britain.
Free parking is available. From the hangar, attendees can walk through the gates to reach the viewing area. Limited seating is available. These flights are planned activities, but are subject to weather conditions, pilot availability and the aircraft’s mechanical condition. Fly days may be canceled.
