Woman struck in crosswalk on Highway 99

LYNNWOOD — A woman was injured Wednesday night after being hit by a car.

The Lynnwood woman, in her 50s, was walking in a marked crosswalk at Highway 99 and 176th Street SW when she was struck by a driver turning right onto 176th Street SW, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Session said.

Medics rushed the woman to the hospital with significant injuries to her legs.

The collision occurred just after 7 p.m. Northbound traffic on Highway 99 was blocked for about 40 minutes.

Detectives do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved, Sessions said.
