Everett Symphony says marketing deal with Comcast Arena operator will pay dividends
A new partnership for the Everett Symphony should be cause for patrons to whistle a happy tune.
That's because the partnership is a money-saver for the symphony, allowing the nonprofit organization to leverage its limited resources in other areas such as further improving its offerings to patrons.
Global Spectrum at Comcast Arena has agreed to provide marketing support to the Everett Symphony for its new upcoming Family Together Concerts series. This means Global Spectrum is expanding its commitment to bring more music to the lives of children and youth while helping the symphony increase its audience and public awareness of classical music.
The way this will work is that Global will do the marketing for all the Family Together Concerts, using Comcast's large database of ticket buyers and "their high level of professional expertise in marketing and promoting these types of shows beyond anything we can come close to," said symphony CEO Roger Pawley.
"They are doing a community service by helping the Everett Symphony and helping the community by expanding our reach," Pawley said. "And that allows us to use our resources that we would have used on that on other things."
Pawley could not say in terms of dollars and cents what the value of this partnership means in savings to the symphony, but he called it "huge."
"This just opens a whole new world for us being able to promote our brand and our programs," Pawley said. "It is significant."
The Family Together concert series is geared toward educating and inspiring children with musical presentations such as "The Magical Music of Walt Disney," Moscow Ballet's "Great Russian Nutcracker" and "Cirque de la Symphonie."
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to help the Everett Symphony thrill children of all ages with music and to encourage them to become lifelong music lovers," said Kim Bedier, Global's general manager.
Symphony conductor Paul-Elliott Cobbs said the orchestra "presents a Carnegie Hall level of music to the entire community, especially youth," adding that the "Family Together Concerts are a wonderful addition to a remarkable season."
Music Education Fairs will be held in conjunction with each of the concerts where music teachers, organizations and other music providers in the community are invited to help introduce children and youth to musical futures.
