Ballot deadline for Washington primary election
OLYMPIA Washington primary voters who waited to the last day faced the deadline today to put their ballots in a mailbox or drop-off box.
Mail-in ballots must be postmarked no later than Aug. 18 to be counted. All counties except Pierce are conducting the primary entirely by mail-in ballots.
Voters are selecting the top two candidates to advance to the Nov. 3 general election in numerous races, including Seattle mayor and King County executive. Eastern Washington voters are narrowing the field for three state House seats.
Seattle is using the election to decide whether grocery shoppers will pay 20 cents for each disposable bag.
