39 King County Parks on the Chopping Block

In an effort to close a $56 million budget shortfall, King County Executive Kurt Triplett will propose closing 39 neighborhood parks on Jan. 1. The impacted parks stretch from Federal Way to Kirkland.

Triplett says the county doesn't have the money to keep the parks open and hopes cities, school districts or other public or private agencies will assume responsibility for the them.
