BRETT'S RUN

Thanks to all for great inaugural event

On Aug. 22, the Brett Akio Jensen Memorial Fun Run and Walk was held at Legion Memorial Park in north Everett. The weather was absolutely wonderful as more than 350 runners and walkers took off down a picture-perfect route on Alverson Boulevard and Grand Avenue.

This event would not have been possible without the love, support and encouragement of numerous volunteers, friends, local businesses, the participants and the city of Everett. We thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for helping make our inaugural, and hopefully annual, event so successful. It truly lived up to Brett’s motto: Carpe Diem!!

All proceeds from Brett’s Run go into a memorial scholarship fund and are awarded to deserving Everett area youth through Cascade High School and the downtown Everett Rotary Club. The scholarships are used to further these students’ education at a technical or community college or a four-year university.

Thanks again for everyone’s support and participation.

Don, Jan and Megan Jensen
