Catcher Burke traded to Nationals

Catcher Jamie Burke, the 37-year-old Northwest native who endeared himself to the Mariners' pitchers the past two years, has been traded to the Washington Nationals. They traded him to the Nats in exchange for cash considerations.
While Burke, from Roseburg, Ore., leaves an organization he has loved since he was a kid, the trade gets him back into the big leagues.
