NASCAR's Logano to drive in Bodine Bobsled Challenge again
LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — NASCAR Cup rookie Joey Logano is the first driver to commit for the fifth annual Geoff Bodine Bobsled Challenge.
It'll be Logano's third appearance in the novel event, which pits NASCAR and NHRA drivers competing to raise money for the Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project.
The Bo-Dyn Bobsled Project builds American-made bobsleds for U.S. athletes. The U.S. team has won medals at the past two Winter Olympics, and Steve Holcomb guided his four-man team to a world championships gold medal in February, the first gold for a U.S. sled at worlds since 1959.
The Bobsled Challenge, sponsored by Lucas Oil and Whelen Engineering, will be staged at Mount Van Hoevenberg Jan. 8-10.
