The rave green game thread

I'm still having a hard time getting adjusted to these green jerseys. As Tacoma News Tribune columnist John McGrath just put it, "They've out-Oregoned Oregon." Oh well, I'm sure some people, players included, like them, and the team certainly won't mind selling more jerseys.
The Bears won the coin toss and will start with the ball.
While the Seahawks are missing plenty of injured players, they will have cornerback Ken Lucas and defensive tackle Brandon Mebane, who were both questionable coming into the afternoon.
Good start for the Seahawks And that's not something we could say about the Seahawks the last two weeks. After the Bears got good field position thanks to a long kick return, they missed a 53-yard field goal, giving the Seahawks some good field position of their own.
Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, likely wanting to get Seneca Wallace comfortable, had the Seahawk throwing on four of the first five plays. After a fumble backed the Seahawks up to third-and-19, Julius Jones turned a screen pass into a 39-yard score by running through Bears corner Charles Tillman.
And as an added bonus for the Seahawks, Old Man Favre led the Vikings to a last-minute touchdown to steal a win over the 49ers. That means a win today would put the Seahawks in a tie with San Francisco (and possibly the Cardinals depending on what they do) for the division lead.
10-0 Seahawks, 0:40 left in first quarter Olindo Mare just gave the Seahawks a 10-0 lead with a 46-yard field goal. The Seahawks got the ball thanks to a David Hawthorne interception. Hawthorne, who made the team a year ago as an undrafted free agent, is making his first career start in place of Lofa Tatupu. He had five tackles after the Bears' first two possessions.
Another Mare field goal makes it 13-0 If the Seahawks keep this up, we might just see more of these green jerseys.
Chicago had a three-and-out on its last possession, and after a short punt, the Seahawks got into field goal range on a 20-yard pass from Seneca Wallace to Nate Burleson, who now has 60 yards on five catches. Burleson also saved the Seahawks from an interception by knocking the ball away from a Bears defender in the end zone.
Turnover overturned, Bears capitalize with a TD The Seahawks thought they had a huge play when Matt Forte fumbled at the goal line, but after a review it turns out Matt Forte didn't fumble at the goal line. Two plays later, Jay Cutler connected Greg Olsen for a one-yard score on fourth-and-goal. Deon Grant got a good shot in on Cutler as he released the pass, and as a result we got to see Cutler throw a nice little temper tantrum at the official who didn't throw a flag. Good times. Seahawks will have 1:56 and all three timeouts to try to answer before halftime.
And David Hawthorne, who caused and recovered the fumble that wasn't, now has 11 tackles this half.
13-7 at halftime The Seahawks got down field in the final seconds, but Olindo Mare missed a 43-yard field goal attempt that would have given Seattle a two-score lead.
And in case you missed it, Deion Branch had his first catch of the season on the drive for a 7-yard pickup.
The Seahawks defense has played pretty well overall, especially considering the number of key players missing, but there have been a few too many long passes open in the middle of the field, leading to 150 passing yards from Jay Cutler (though one of those was the result of Deon Grant falling down). Holding Matt Forte and the rest of the Bears run game to just 36 yards is certainly a good start for the Seahawks.
Seneca Wallace is currently 12 for 20 for 138 and a score, certainly numbers Seattle will take out of its backup QB. Julius Jones has 8 carries for 46 yards, as well as the 39-yard touchdown catch. Burleson has five catches for 60 yards to lead Seattle.
The Seahawks will start the second half with the ball.
Hoooosh. . .oops T.J. Houshmandzadeh's first catch of the game didn't work out too well, as he fumbled fighting for yardage. Now the Bears will start with good field position and a chance to take the lead with a touchdown.
Bears take a 14-13 lead That's 14 unanswered points by Chicago, and this is feeling like a game that could slip away from the Seahawks if they don't answer soon.
Seattle also lost a timeout on that drive, challenging the Johnny Knox touchdown and losing.
Another Mare miss The Seahawks got into Chicago territory, in part thanks to a pair of facemask penalties, but Olindo Mare missed his second straight field goal attempt, this one from 34 yards out. The Seahawks defense is going to need to come up with a stop here.
Bears turn a turnover into three points After Justin Forsett inexplicably let a punt bounce rather than fair catch it around the 20 yardline, the Seahawks started at their own six. Seneca Wallace, scrambling to avoid a sack in the end zone, threw a side-arm pass that was intercepted at the 14 yard line. The defense stopped the Bears, but Chicago still got a field goal out of it to take a 17-13 lead.
Seahawks trail 17-13 after three quarters The Seahawks are down, but driving as the third quarter comes to an end. T.J. Houshmandzadeh redeemed himself for an earlier fumble, saving Seneca Wallace from an interception by out-jumping two Chicago defenders on duck thrown by Wallace. He's had two big catches on the drive.
Mare makes it a one-point game After missing two straight field goals, Olindo Mare was good from 39-yards to make it 17-16 Chicago with 14:48 remaining in the game.
Curry, Mare give the Seahawks the lead Aaron Curry, who had a rough week last week against the 49ers, had a big series, coming up with a tackle for loss and a sack that led to a fumble, which Corry Redding recovered. The Seahawks offense didn't do much, but Olinido Mare converted from 46 yards to make it 19-17 with 5:12 left in the game.
Bears take a 25-19 lead Cutler to Devin Hester for 36 yards, plus a two-point conversion and it's now a six-point Chicago lead with 1:52 left.
This will be it until after the game, gotta get down for post-game stuff.
