Breast cancer walk
A breast cancer walk is planned Saturday at Glacier Peak High School.
It begins at 10 a.m. at 7401 144th Place SE, Snohomish.
Proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. For more information, call 360-563-7551.
Last year the group raised almost $2,000 and walkers hope to collect $5,000 at this event.
Auction to benefit respite house: An auction to benefit Anayat House, a Texas-based home that offers respite to families visiting hospitalized relatives, is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at the Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream store, 21106 86th Ave. SE, Maltby.
Founded 15 years ago by Mimi Daniali of Edmonds, the house in Beaumont, Texas, was created in memory of her father, Anayat. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door.

Comment on Monte Cristo mine cleanup: Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest officials hope to get public comment on an effort to clean up the Monte Cristo mine area.
District Ranger Peter Forbes and engineer Rod Lentz plan to present cleanup alternatives for the historic area at 7 tonight at the Darrington Ranger District office, 1405 Emmens Ave. N., Darrington.
