Tube steak boogie

Hard time: A Massachusetts ex-con who stole a hot dog from another man in a park after flashing what looked like a gun was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

The sentence sounds extraordinary until you remember that Massachusetts has a “Three Strikes and You Eat Kraut” law.

Sorry, but “Say WA” is already taken: Weary of being remembered for a decade-old “Almost Live” sketch about big hair and rocker bimbo fashions, Lynnwood is looking to enhance its “brand” with a slogan like Everett's “Great Thinking. With a View.”

We're happy to help with some slogan suggestions:

“Lynnwood. Downtowns Are So Overrated.”

“Lynnwood. Who Even Remembers ‘Almost Live'?”

“Lynnwood is for Lovers. Of Strip Mall Espresso Stands.”

“Lynnwood. Our Mall Has a Nordstrom's. Can Everett Say That?”

There's an app for that: CNN will offer an iPhone application today that brings a little old media business practice to new media; CNN will charge $1 to $2 a week to subscribe to its iPhone-based news service.

We were all set to charge a subscription to a Buzz app for the iPhone, but Apple turned it down because it was too similar to Pull My Finger.
