5 baristas’ trials set for December

EVERETT -- Five baristas accused of engaging in prostitution at an Everett bikini espresso stand did not have to appear before a judge for an arraignment hearing Friday.

The women, ages 18 to 24, waived their appearances in Everett Municipal Court after being charged with multiple counts of prostitution and violating the city's adult entertainment ordinance.

Their trials were scheduled for Dec. 14.

Charges were filed against the woman last month after a two-month police investigation into complaints at the Grab-N-Go Espresso stand at 8015 Broadway.

Detectives reported that the five women charged up to $80 to flash customers or lick whipped cream off each other. Investigators allege that the women also charged customers money to touch their exposed breasts and buttocks.
