EVERETT YMCA

Professional preschool staff a true godsend

As many working parents and grandparents know, the largest issue that faces them is finding exceptional preschool/day care for their children. My 4-year-old grandson had been dismissed from several preschool/day care facilities for behavioral issues. My daughter-in-law enrolled him at the Everett YMCA because it was close to her work; the behavioral issues continued. Instead of simply dismissing my grandson, the staff at the Y began working with me and my daughter-in-law. We came to the decision that we needed to have my grandson evaluated for ADHD. Sure enough, he is suffering from this neurological disorder.

The difference we have found at the Y is the wonderful, caring, concerned and nurturing staff. The director for preschool education and the preschool/day care staff have been a godsend for us. As soon as we shared the test results with them, they stepped right up, helping us with daily reviews of my grandson’s behavior. As a team, the staff at the “Y” and my daughter-in-law have been able to work together to make good decisions concerning the use of medication and behavior modification to help him control his disorder.

The Y’s preschool education director has many years’ of experience working with children with ADHD. Without these people and their outstanding program, my daughter-in-law and I would have continued the roller coaster of enrolling my grandson into preschool/day cares only to have him dismissed.

If you need to find an outstanding preschool/day dare for your child/children, whether they have learning issues or not, or are simply thinking of switching your child’s care, please take the time to visit the Everett YMCA or the nearest YMCA. I guarantee you will find a huge difference in the programs. I promise your child/children will be happy, challenged, loved, nurtured, and well cared for while you are absent.
