Have a Say on New School Boundaries

The Seattle School Board has proposed new boundaries for all Seattle public schools. The changes would return the district a neighborhood-based system of assigning student school placements, rather than the current system of allowing students to apply to any school of their choice, with no guarantees.

The board also plans to reopen five schools that have been closed in recent years.

For more information, visit www.seattleschools.org/area/newassign/index.html.

The board plans to hold a series of public meetings to hear from parents and the community. Comments may also be submitted by email to newassign@seattleschools.org and by U.S. mail to Seattle School Board, P.O. Box 34165, MS 11-010, Seattle, WA, 98124-1165.
