Man who died after fall near Index is identified

Index: Man who died in fall named

The man who died after falling from a log last weekend was identified as Vladimir Dmytriv, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner said.

Dmytriv, 50, of Des Moines, was crossing the Silver Creek river on a log when he fell. Search and rescue crews recovered his body early on Sunday. Dmytriv died of his injuries from the fall, the medical examiner said. His death was ruled an accident.
