Fire burns 2 acres in Warm Beach

WARM BEACH — About 30 firefighters on Wednesday afternoon worked to stop a fast-moving brush fire.

Fire crews were summoned about 3:30 p.m. to the 14700 Block of Evergreen Way, south of Warm Beach, North County Fire Battalion Chief Christian Davis said.

The fire was burning brush in the heavily wooded area, moving up a steep slope. Firefighters had to attack the blaze from above and below. A helicopter was dumping water over the blaze.

Flames didn’t spread to any homes, Davis said. Crews worked for more than three hours to control the blaze, which burned through 2 acres.

“We just want to remind everyone to be careful with their outdoor burns and always think fire safety first,” Davis said.
