Seahawks add tackle Williams from practice squad
RENTON The Seattle Seahawks have signed offensive tackle Kyle Williams from the practice squad.
The move announced Saturday adds depth to a depleted position for Sundays game against Jacksonville. The team released defensive tackle Michael Bennett to make room on the active roster for Williams.
Williams was added last weekend before Seattle lost at Indianapolis. The team then put him back on the practice squad this week.
The Seahawks have to play this roster shell game for now because three starting linemen are out injured. But the team believes Walter Jones, Rob Sims and Sean Locklear are not hurt severely enough to go on the injured reserve list. That would end their seasons and clear roster space.
