Arlington: Teens advisers needed
Arlington area teenagers are invited to share their ideas for library programs, purchases and improvements. A meeting is set for 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Arlington Library, 135 N. Washington Ave.
Snacks are provided by the Friends of the Arlington Library.

Be a part of putting together a long-range plan to guide growth and development in Smokey Point, the West Bluff and Island Crossing neighborhoods of Arlington.
City officials are planning an open house set for 5 p.m. Tuesday in the multi-purpose room of the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd.

Darrington: Food bank hours listed
The Darrington Food Bank is located at First Baptist Church, across the street from the Burger Barn on Highway 530.
Hours are 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays during the first full week and the third week of each month.
Granite Falls: Candidates forum
A candidates forum is planned for 7 p.m. Thursday at the American Legion Hall, 301 South Granite Ave.
Candidates for Granite Falls mayor, the Granite Falls City Council and the Granite Falls School District board of directors have been invited to the forum.
A meet-and-greet begins at 6:30 p.m. The forum is sponsored by the Granite Falls Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters of Snohomish County.
Stanwood: Learn about septic systems
A free workshop on caring for septic systems is set for 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Snohomish PUD office in Stanwood, 9124 271st St. NW.
Failing septic systems can require costly repairs, cause health issues and could affect nearby streams, wells and underground aquifers.
Teri King, who leads water quality programs for the University of Washington SeaGrant program, plans to talk about septic system types, how they operate and how to protect them.
Learn what is safe to put down the drain and how to keep a system in good working order, as well as tips for landscaping and covering unsightly components.
The workshop is being offered by Snohomish Conservation District with funding from the Department of Ecology Centennial Clean Water fund.

Free guitar clinic scheduled
Volunteers at the Davis Place youth center across from the Stanwood Library plan to offer a guitar class to students from sixth-graders to high school seniors with their own guitars.
Classes begin at 3 p.m. Thursday and run for six weeks. The class is free, and scholarships are available to cover the $5 registration fee. Snacks will be provided. Class size is limited.
