The Everett AquaSox announced Tuesday they have reached an agreement with the Everett School District to use Everett Memorial Stadium through the 2017 Northwest League baseball season.
The stadium has been home to the Class A minor-league franchise since 1984.
The school board approved the seven-year extension last week.
“Over the years, the AquaSox have been incredibly valuable school district and community partners,” Mike Gunn, the district’s executive director of facilities and operations, said in a statement released by the AquaSox. “Not only do their games benefit the local economy and provide recreational activities, the facility improvements they make possible give our students a play field that meets the highest standards.”
In addition to the AquaSox, whose season runs from mid-June to early September, the field is used by high school, college and community teams.
