Camano turkey dinner

A turkey dinner is planned Sunday at the Utsalady Ladies Aid Building.

It's planned for 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 79 Utsalady Road, on the north end of Camano Island.

Dinner is $12 and includes turkey, spuds, dressing, gravy, vegetables, a relish plate, rolls and homemade pies.

Children age 10 and younger eat for free when accompanied by an adult.



Elks dedicate new Everett lodge: A dedication of the new Everett Elks Lodge is planned for 4 this afternoon at 2802 Hoyt Ave., Everett.

The ceremony will be performed by Elks past exalted rulers Robert Erickson, Robert Cassidy, John Smevaag, Les Kickland, James Cassidy and Greg Browne. Honored guests will be Elks past national presidents Frank Garland and Roger True and Washington State Elks Association president Richard Mullen.



Check out new fire training tower: Snohomish County Fire District 1 will celebrate the grand opening of its new fire training tower with a dedication and open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

The event will be at the new training tower at the Fire District 1 Headquarters and Training Center campus, 12425 Meridian Ave., Everett.

See firefighter training and ladder and rescue demonstrations using the new tower.

Visitors can also try a 911 call simulator, learn about home safety in an interactive presentation, tour the ladder truck and get their photos taken with a restored 1925 fire engine.
