Political FYI: Candidate events in Stanwood, Everett

Candidates' forum today in Stanwood

STANWOOD — A nonpartisan candidates' forum is scheduled for 6:30 tonight at the Stanwood Middle School cafeteria, 9405 271 St. NW, Stanwood.

Candidates have been invited for Snohomish County Council District 1, Snohomish County Superior Court judge Position 2, Stanwood mayor and City Council, Stanwood-Camano School District and Camano Island Fire District 1 commissioner.

Issues to be covered include Sno-Isle Libraries Proposition 1, Initiative 1033 and Referendum 71.

Sponsors are the Stanwood-Camano chapter of the American Association of University Women and the Stanwood-Camano News.

Neighborhood group to meet with three port candidates

EVERETT — The Northwest Neighborhood Association will meet with three port commission candidates in Everett.

The meeting is planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Jackson Center at Everett Community College, 2000 Tower St., Everett.
