Bare baristas: County may apply lewd-conduct laws

EVERETT — Snohomish County officials expect to take a closer look at the county's lewd-conduct laws next month as a way to cut down on offensive behavior at drive-through coffee stands.

A draft ordinance from County Councilman Dave Gossett follows other laws that have passed in Everett and Lynnwood aiming to restrict lewd conduct in public. The proposed law is scheduled for discussion at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 9.

Scheduled for discussion at the same time is a draft law from Council Chairman Mike Cooper that would classify stands where employees show too much skin as adult entertainment. The County Council hopes to schedule a meeting for public comment on the laws in December, Cooper said.
