ATHLETES OF THE WEEK (Oct. 28)

Zack Berg
Edmonds-Woodway High School


The junior running back rushed for 89 yards on nine carries and scored four touchdowns to lead the Warriors to a 28-7 victory over Cascade in a Western Conference 4A South Division football game Oct. 23 at Edmonds Stadium. Berg, who also plays linebacker, recorded seven tackles and four sacks on defense.

The senior standout recorded a goal in the 77th minute against King's to tie the score at 1 and eventually send the Oct. 25 Cascade Conference girls soccer game into overtime and then to a shootout, which was won by the Wildcats. Earlier in the week, Pettinger had an assist in a 2-0 win over Cedarcrest, scored a goal and assisted on two others in a 4-0 victory over South Whidbey.
