COUNTY COUNCIL

Hiatt-Watson carefully conveys the facts

Ellen Hiatt Watson is deserving of our vote for Snohomish County Council District 1. Ellen is most capable of leading major decisions in the county. She has a degree in communications and political science/economics and a strong public relations, marketing and design business background. She will do all that she can to minimize taxation, enhance our county infrastructure and public safety, increase our economic base, manage our growth and maintain our rural lifestyle.

Her opponent, John Koster, has repeatedly voted for developers and against the county code during appeals and is very well funded by special interests. Special interests include support of a car dealership at the expense of farmland, and allowing more density in a Warm Beach development than the code allowed. Koster’s eight-page flyer that came in the mail had a “Voter Alert” on the last page whereby voters are warned “During an election, and often out of desperation, some candidates will resort to misleading tactics to deceive voters; they warp the truth....” What an insidious implication about Ellen Hiatt Watson. In her leadership for our community she has carefully conveyed the facts, and never resorted to desperate measures and lies. Koster, on the other hand, was caught double talking to his constituents and to our county executive, claiming he never asked for a veto, yet he left a voice mail asking for just that.

We need someone we can trust. Ellen deserves our vote.
