Send us Ways to Give

The Herald will publish its annual Ways to Give list Nov. 22.

Ways to Give lets readers know about the charitable groups that need help to do their work during the holiday season.

We need the name of your organization; what services you provide; hours and address; a phone number to be included in the listing and a phone number for confirmation; and what items, services or volunteer help you need.

Submit information by Nov. 11 to Herald reporter Gale Fiege, P.O. Box 930, Everett, WA 98206, or e-mail gfiege@heraldnet.com.

For more information about Ways to Give, call 425-339-3427.

Focus on Farming in Tulalip: Focus on Farming, a sixth-annual conference celebrating Snohomish County agriculture, is planned for Thursday at the Tulalip Resort & Conference Center in Marysville.

Everyone is welcome to attend the full day of workshop sessions designed to help farmers and local food systems succeed.

This year’s speakers include David Mas Masumoto, author of “Wisdom of the Last Farmer,” who will talk during a gourmet lunch; former New Jersey secretary of agriculture Charles Kuperus, who will give a morning keynote address; and cowboy poet Baxter Black, who will perform at 4:45 p.m. before the conference’s annual local wine and artisan cheese social.

Conference registration is $50 at door. Fans of Black who don’t want to attend the entire conference, can pay $20 for his performance and the wine and cheese social. Go to www.focuson farming.org or call 425-388-7112 for more information.
