Only six years for beating death?

In the Oct. 24 Herald, on Page B8 under Northwest Briefly was this headline: “Ephrata: Man beat girlfriend to death.”

I must say that I am absolutely appalled that a man can beat his girlfriend and the Grant County prosecutor is recommending only a measly six-year sentence!

This is ridiculous beyond comprehension. If that woman were my daughter, I would want to beat that man to death! So, who is this man going to beat to death next time? He’ll probably be out sooner for “good behavior.” This is ridiculous!
