Stealth players named to U.S. lacrosse team

Washington Stealth players Paul Rabil and Eric Martin have been named to the final 23-man roster of the 2010 United States Men’s National Lacrosse Team.

The Stealth announced the selections Tuesday.

The U.S. team is scheduled to compete in the 2010 World Field Lacrosse Championships in July in Manchester, England.

Rabil was the second overall selection in the 2008 National Lacrosse League (NLL) entry draft and finished his rookie season with 34 points (16 goals and 18 assists) in 16 games. He is the reigning Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year in Major League Lacrosse, where he plays for the Boston Cannons.

Martin finished the 2009 season, his fifth in the NLL, with 18 points (six goals, 12 assists). In his five-year NLL career, he has accumulated 13 goals, 46 assists, all with the Stealth. In his first season with the Denver Outlaws of the MLL, Martin led the team to the 2009 MLL championship game.

The Stealth relocated to Everett in June from San Jose, Calif. They open their first National Lacrosse League season in the Northwest on Jan. 9 at home against the Colorado Mammoth.
