Scouting report

Tonight is the fourth game of Everett’s six-game swing through the Central Division, as well as the only meeting of the season between the Tips (9-4-0-0) and the Tigers (9-6-2-2). Everett is 3-0 on the road trip so far. Medicine Hat won 6-3 when the teams played last season.

Medicine Hat has been something of a mystery team so far this season. The Tigers have twice breached double-digit goals in games, and four times Medicine Hat has prevailed by six goals or more. However, the Tigers have also been on the receiving end of blowouts, losing by five or more three times.

The thing the Tigers have going for them is the league’s most-explosive offense. Medicine Hat leads the league in goals with 88 in 19 games. Twenty-year-old right wing Bretton Cameron (17 goals, 11 assists) has led the way, with plenty of support from 17-year-old center Emerson Etem (15 goals, six assists), 18-year-old right wing Linden Vey (six goals, 15 assists) and 19-year-old center Wacey Hamilton (four goals, 17 assists).

But Medicine Hat also has difficulty preventing goals — the 75 surrendered by the Tigers are the second most in the league. Seventeen-year-old goaltender Tyler Bunz (8-5-2-1, 3.50 goals against average, .884 save percentage) has borne the brunt.
