Wednesday updates

Posted at 10:53 am by John Boyle

The Seahawks may be a 2-5 team coming off consecutive blowout losses, but hey, at least they're a 2-5 team coming off consecutive blowout losses that is getting healthier.

As Jim Mora pointed out in his press conference this morning, the Seahawks might actually start the same five linemen for consecutive weeks for the first time since the first two weeks of the season. And if it's not the same five, that will mean Sean Locklear is back from his ankle injury. Locklear is expected to do limited work today, but it's unknown as of now if he'll be ready to play.

Will Herring is the only player not expected to practice today, having received an injection today for his injured shoulder. He should be available for Sunday, however.

Ben Obomanu is coming along well from his oblique injury, Mora said, adding there is a "pretty good chance he'll be available."

Ken Lucas, Jordan Babineaux and Matt Hasselbeck will all be limited today, Mora said, though it seems all should be fine for Sunday's game.

As for all of those roster changes this week, Mora said they were football-related moves, not an attempt to send a message to his team.

When asked about cutting Edgerrin James, Mora said that, while James has been a good presence in the locker room, the team isn't getting the production it had hoped when they signed him, and that they are interested in seeing what Louis Rankin has to offer.
