One lead was very comfortable. The other was tighter. Donna Wright, an 18-year veteran of the council, was easily outpolling challenger Quinn King on Tuesday, 2,346 to 1,566, roughly 60 percent to 40 percent. Jeff Seibert, seeking a third term on the council, led challenger Patrick Larson Jr., 2,084 to 1,782, roughly 54 percent to 46 percent. Larson, who criticized city policies during the campaign, was arrested early on election day and booked into the city jail for investigation of a hit-and-run accident. Larson, 28, drove into some city garbage cans around 5:15 a.m. in the 8500 block of 79th Street NE and then drove off, according to a police report. He could not be reached for comment Tuesday. Larson and King, both employed in security at the Tulalip Casino, especially opposed the city's decision to add 19,000 people east of State Avenue to Marysville without a vote. State law allows a city to annex any area by agreement with the county if 60 percent of the area's boundary touches the city. In this case, it's 75 percent. Wright, 69, is co-owner with her husband of Coldwell Banker Gary Wright Realty Inc. in Marysville. Seibert, 48, is an electrician for Dalton Electric in Lynnwood. Second, there isn't any "City" garbage cans in that area, they are Waste Management property. Third, how can you say it's under investigation, then that Larson "drove" blah blah blah. Let's run a story on your horrible smear campaign, taking words grossly out of context and poor journalism when this incident is seen in court. Most of the people I talk to in that area are quite mad at the city and county for not putting this to a vote. Most do not want to be city of Marysville.
