DARRINGTON — Incumbent Town Councilwoman Sandi McCaulley’s write-in campaign for re-election appears to be failing.
Challenger John Rosselli currently has 115 votes, or 66 percent, to McCaulley’s 34 percent, or 59 write-in votes.
McCaulley didn’t get her name on the ballot because she misunderstood that a notarized copy of her candidate form sent by fax to the county auditor wasn’t sufficient for filing.
Challenger John Rosselli previously ran an unsuccessful campaign against Mayor Joyce Jones. Earlier, he was elected to serve on the council but resigned after just one year because of injuries suffered in an accident.
The election results available Tuesday evening were only preliminary. Vote tallies are expected to continue for several days.
