2010 Olympics: Want tickets? Better get ’em now
A final round of tickets went on sale for the 2010 Winter Olympics on Saturday, a few short months before the games begin.
Those tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, and could be gone quickly. After all, the final round of tickets include seats at gold medal events, along with two Canadian favorites: hockey and curling.
United States residents can get tickets through a couple of sources.
The official Olympics Web site — www.vancouver2010.com — offers tickets, or locals can go straight to the Olympics-approved U.S. ticketing agent, cosport.com.
Whatever the outlet, ticket buyers should remember a few things.
For one, be braced for high prices. Many tickets range from $50 to $150. That’s the cost before you factor in a car ride across the border.
For another, leave time between events. Venues aren’t all in the same city. Leave at least two to three hours between same day competitions.
And finally — perhaps obviously — don’t buy tickets for overlapping events. If you do, you’ll be forced to choose which one you see. The spare ticket could end up going unused, when it could have been purchased by another fan.
