Hasselbeck has a sore shoulder, but will play Sunday

Posted at 3:28 pm by John Boyle

Matt Hasselbeck said after yesterday's victory over the Lions that his shoulder was sore for most of the game, the result of him diving to make a tackle following the interception he threw on the Seahawks' first play from scrimmage.

That didn't stop him from completing a career-high 39 passes, but Hasselbeck will get a little rest this week, Jim Mora said today.

Hasselbeck likely won't practice Wednesday, but Mora said Hasselbeck's soreness isn't the result of anything structural, and that he will play Sunday against Arizona.

Overall the Seahawks came out of Yesterday's game healthy, and Mora said that by Thursday he expects everyone will be able to practice. Cornerback Ken Lucas played sparingly against Detroit because of a sore neck, and also because he hit his ulnar nerve in his elbow when he fell to the ground trying to break up a first-quarter touchdown pass. Mora didn't say whether Lucas or Josh Wilson would start this week if Lucas is healthy.

As for Sean Locklear, who suited up but did not play, a decision has not yet been made about his role for this week's game.

Game balls this week went to Julius Jones on offense (apparently they don't want to give it to Hasselbeck every time they win), David Hawthorne on defense and Lawyer Milloy on special teams.
