Active Duty

Army Pfc. Brian Alewine graduated Sept. 11 from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Alewine 18, is a 2009 graduate of Lake Stevens High school and is currently attending the Army aviation and logistics school at Fort Eustice, Va. His parents are Keith and Sherry Alewine of Lake Stevens.

Air Force Airman Alicia Davila graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is the daughter of Shanna Davila of Snohomish, and is a 2006 graduate of Snohomish High School.

Navy Fireman David Martinez, son of Martha and Jose Martinez of Lake Stevens, and more than 5,000 fellow sailors and Marines aboard the Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, recently returned to San Diego after a five-month deployment. Martinez is a 2004 graduate of Lake Stevens High School. He joined the Navy in January.

Navy Seaman Johnathan Kuehn, son of James A. Kuehn of Everett, was among the more than 5,000 sailors and Marines aboard the Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan who recently returned to San Diego after a five-month deployment in support of military operations in Afghanistan. Kuehn is a 2007 graduate of Everett High School. He joined the Navy in May 2008.

Navy Seaman Norrick Burton, son of Tonjia Dennis of Memphis, Tenn., and Norrick Burton of Marysville, was among the more than 5,000 fellow sailors and Marines aboard the Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan who recently returned to San Diego from a five-month deployment in support of military operations in Afghanistan. Burton joined the Navy in October 2008.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Michael Foster, son of Konda Kearton of Langley, was among the more than 7,500 sailors of the Ronald Reagan Carrier Strike Group recently deployed in support of military operations in Afghanistan. Foster is a 1997 graduate of South Whidbey High School. He joined the Navy in September 1997. A Navy officer aboard the Nimitz-class nuclear aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, he recently returned to San Diego.

Navy Seaman Jeffrey Pamintuan, son of Filipinas and Remigio Pamintuan of Arlington, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Pamintuan is a 2007 graduate of Arlington High School.

Navy Seaman Jamie Curnew, a 2003 graduate of Mariner High School, recently completed basic training at U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Army Pfc. Nicholas Almelia has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Almelia is the son of Samuel Almelia of Marysville and Angela Almelia of Everett. The private is a 2009 graduate of Marysville High School.

Army Pvt. Eric Ofrancia has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Darlene Hauck of Lynnwood, Ofrancia graduated in 2005 from Edmonds-Woodway High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Daniel Sprake has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Tim Sprake of Monroe, and is a 2008 graduate of Cedar Park Christian High School, Bothell.

Army Pfc. Kelsea Tingley has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. The private’s parents are Suzanne Tingley of Mount Vernon and Patrick Tingley of Marysville. Tingley is a 2009 graduate of Burlington-Edison High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Keoni Kuapahi was recently promoted to his current rank and has arrived for duty at Dover Air Force Base, Del. Kuapahi is in air traffic control assigned to the 436th Operations Support Squadron. He is the son of Leialoha Kuapahi and Amy Kuapahi of Oak Harbor, and is a 2008 graduate of Oak Harbor High School.
