Today Mill Creek: Jackson High School Associated Student Body offers A Tribute to Our Veterans at 9:15 a.m. at 1508 136th St. SE. Community members are invited. Veterans Day, Wednesday Arlington: Parade begins at 11 a.m. downtown along Olympic Avenue. All veterans are invited to march in the parade. A roast beef lunch is planned for 1 p.m. at the American Legion, 115 N. Olympic Ave. It costs $5 for nonveterans. Flags will be retired at 3 p.m. at American Legion Park, 114 N. Olympic Ave. Everett: A service is planned for 11 a.m. in the lobby at Administration West at the Snohomish County campus, 3000 Rockefeller Ave. A dedication ceremony is planned for a 1967 plaque, given to Memorial Community Church in Everett from American War Mothers, showing the names of dead veterans from World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam wars. The plaque will now be hung at the county rather than at the church. Everett: Brown Bear Car Wash at 3523 Broadway will offer free car washes to veterans and service personnel. Everett: Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2100 offers a Veterans Day dinner at 6 p.m. at 2711 Oakes Ave. There will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad and a roll. Veterans eat free, $10 for others. There will be a brief program before dinner. For more information, call 425-252-2100. Everett: Famous Dave's BBQ at 1206 SE Everett Mall Way offers a free dinner and beverage to active-duty military and retired veterans. Everett: Gov. Chris Gregoire is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. at Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field, 3407 109th St. SW. A panel of veterans and reconnaissance pilots will discuss their wartime experiences. Admission is free for veterans with military identification. For more information, visit www.flyingheritage.com or call 877-FHC-3404. Lynnwood: A ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at Lynnwood Veterans Park at 194th Street SW and 44th Avenue W. There will be bagpipes, speakers from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040, poppies by the VFW Auxiliary, a rifle volley, prayers and guest speaker Tina Roberts-Martinez, former mayor of Lynnwood. Mill Creek: A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Mill Creek Veterans Memorial is planned for noon at Library Park, 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway. After 10 months of work by members of the Mill Creek Arts and Beautification Board, the idea was approved for construction. Names of veterans will be engraved on basalt columns on a paved courtyard. Those interested in adding the name of a veteran to the memorial should visit www.cityofmillcreek.com or call 425-745-1891. Mount Rainier: Veterans and active-duty military members and their families may visit Mount Rainier National Park free. For more information, go to www.nps.gov/mora. Mukilteo: The Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour honors veterans by offering all U.S. and Canadian military veterans, including retired and active-duty military (in uniform or with military identification), free admission to the center at 8415 Paine Field Blvd. Family and friends, up to eight, are admitted for half price. Snohomish and Island counties: Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants offer a choice of six free entrees during lunch or dinner to veterans and active-duty military members. Restaurants are at 4626 196th St. SW, Lynnwood; 806 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett; 31810 Highway 20, Oak Harbor; 3702 88th St. NE, Marysville; 22916 Bothell-Everett Highway, Bothell; and 5710 134th Place SE, Everett. Stanwood: Spaghetti feed, 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Stanwood American Legion, 26921 88th Ave. NW. Free for veterans and families. Thursday Everett: Trinity Lutheran College offers Voices in Wartime at 7 p.m. Thursday at 2802 Wetmore Ave. Planned is a video, followed by a panel of student veterans talking about on their wartime and post-active-duty experiences. It's facilitated by Voices Education Project director Andrew Himes, in cooperation with Rauschenbusch Center.
