Front Porch: Put out that trash on Wednesday

Waste Management will collect recycling, yard and food waste and garbage on its regular schedule Wednesday, Veterans Day.

Curbside customers should put containers at the street early in the morning. Missed pick ups can be reported to 800-592-9995 or online at wmnorthwest.com.

Holiday closures coming: Wednesday is Veterans Day. Here are some resulting closures:

Government: Federal, state and local offices will be closed.

Schools: Closed.

Post offices: Closed, although Express Mail service continues.

Commerce: Most banks will be closed.

Transportation: Everett Transit, Community Transit, Dial-a-Ride and Washington State Ferries will be on regular schedules.

Talk trains in Everett: Snohomish Railfans meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hilton Lake Fire Station, 3525 108th St. SE. All railroad enthusiasts are welcome.
