Emory's blaze causes $2 million in damage

EVERETT – The blaze that destroyed a restaurant on the shores of Silver Lake early Monday caused $2 million in damage.

Fire officials still haven't determined what caused the early-morning fire at Emory's on Silver Lake, Everett spokeswoman Kate Reardon said. Investigators estimate the damage at about $2 million.

Firefighters found the building engulfed in flames when they arrived on scene about 4:20 a.m. Owned by former Mukilteo mayor Emory Cole, the restaurant was a neighborhood fixture for years.
