BASE SHOOTINGS

Gun rights not to blame for attack

America has just suffered its first suicide terrorist bomber attack in the shootings at Fort Hood, Texas. While it was not a bomb, it nevertheless had the same results. Multiple deaths and many dozens injured.

Thank God the police officers had their guns to put four bullets in the attacker to stop him. It’s just too bad that all the trained military personnel on the base were not equipped with or allowed to carrry their weapons 24/7. It is without question that guns and gun ownership will ultimately be blamed for the shooting rampage. I have to disagree and plead that all persons with firearms knowledge get their weapons ready and keep them close at hand whenever and wherever appropriate. This is just the beginning.
