Community Roundup: Stroud wins two Quarter Horse titles

Graysen Stroud of Snohomish won two championships at the All American Quarter Horse Congress held Oct. 2-25 in Columbus, Ohio.

Stroud rode her 8-year-old gelding, Phat Asset, to first-place finishes in Youth Horsemanship and Youth Hunt Seat Equitation. In both cases, she competed in the 11-and-under division.

Stroud also placed third in the 13-and-under Novice Youth Showmanship competition, and fifth in the 11-and-under Youth Hunter Under Saddle competition.

The American Quarter Horse Congress is billed as the largest single-breed horse show in the world. According to the show’s Web site, the event draws 17,000 entrants and 8,500 horses.

Stroud has been riding since the age of 3. She is in the seventh grade at Centennial Middle School in Snohomish.
