Death on Edmonds beach likely a suicide

A 66-year-old man allegedly killed himself with a single gunshot wound to the head Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Brackett’s Landing on Main Street in Edmonds.

Edmonds Police arrived at 10:32 a.m. and found the man on the beach. Paramedics from the Edmonds Fire Department also responded but the man never regained consciousness and died at the scene.

A handgun was recovered along with an envelope addressed to police that included the man’s identification, personal effects and instructions regarding next of kin. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner took possession of the body and his belongings.

The man’s identification is being held pending notification of family.
