FINISH LINE: That's Sir Nick Faldo to you

Knights that say “Nick”

Pro golfer Nick Faldo has received a Holy Grail of sorts.

Queen Elizabeth II has knighted Faldo for a career in which he won six majors and captained Europe's Ryder Cup team. He was awarded the honor for his services to golf and is just the second professional golfer to be knighted. The first was Henry Cotton in 1988.

Faldo now can call himself “Sir Nick Faldo” following the ceremony at Windsor Castle.

“I had dreams as a young boy of being a golfer and winning tournaments, but you don't dream of this,” said Faldo, who has won the European Order of Merit twice, the Masters three times and the British Open three times.

And now for something completely different: Yankee fans in New York got creative to come up with confetti for last week's World Series parade. Some employees with offices overlooking the parade route dumped company files, including confidential financial records, out the window.

“We're finding pay stubs. We're finding personal financial information. We found a balance sheet of someone's trust fund showing $300,000 in stock,” one parade attendee, Damian Salo, told the New York Post.

PARTING SHOT

“A lot of times when one thing goes wrong, everything goes wrong and that's kind of been the case.”
— Josh Boone

The New Jersey Nets forward on his team's 0-7 start, the worst in franchise history. The Nets also are the NBA's only winless team.
