Skagit Speedway starting Supercross Series in 2010

For immediate release, Skagit Speedway (Nov. 12, 2009)

ALGER, Wash. -- Funtime Promotions, the parent company of Skagit Speedway is pleased to announce starting in 2010 it will present 'The Supercross Series at Skagit Speedway'.

"This is an exciting time at Skagit Speedway" commented owner Steve Beitler, " We have been working on this project for a long time and the county gave us permission to proceed last week".

The new Supercross course will be built inside the 3/10 mile oval track. "We will use part of the oval track and all of the center area to construct the new course". said Beitler, "The course will be designed so it will not interfere with the events we have on the oval track".

Funtime Promotions has contracted with Dirt Wurx located in Monroe New York to design and build the new course. "I spoke with Dirt Wurx owner Rich Winkler and I was very comfortable with his ideas and recommendations" said Beitler. Dirt Wurx is the exclusive designer/builder for the 'Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series'. "I spoke with several track builders and I chose Dirt Wurx because they have a lot of experience building tracks for all levels of riders from the top pros to the beginning amateurs" said Beitler.

Weather permitting, the plan is to complete construction and start racing the Supercross in the early spring. There is still some work to be done to move the oval track pit area to the outside of the backstretch. Additional pit amenities including lighting, gravel and a crew viewing areas will be added for the oval races.

The Supercross Series dates will be release as soon as possible. We will work with other tracks and special events to avoid conflicting dates. The 2010 Sprint Car & Outlaw Hornet Schedule will be very simular to the 2009 season.

Further information will be posted on www.skagitspeedway.com as it is released. We are working on a website exclusively for the Supercross Series. To get the latest info and E-flyers click on the 'Email Sign Up' tab.
