Worker dies after falling 4 stories from Lynnwood building

LYNNWOOD — A carpet installer died Thursday after falling four stories out a window and landing on his head.

The accident happened around 10 a.m. as the man was working at the Holiday Inn Express in the 2500 block of 196th Street SW, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.

Police are investigating, Sessions said.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he later died, officials said.

In hearing more about this from other sources, sounds like he was not using any sort of fall protection, which would be a violation of state labor laws.
