Accident near Poulsbo kills Marysville man, injures five

POULSBO – A crash late on Friday left a Marysville man dead and injured five of his passengers.

Diandre Edgecombe, 25, of Marysville, was turning southbound on Highway 3 shortly before midnight when his 1993 Dodge struck a northbound 2002 Toyota pickup , according to a Washington State Patrol press release. The crash happened about 3miles north of Poulsbo.

Edgecombe was dead at the scene. Three of his passengers, including a 1-year-old boy, were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries. The boy suffered a head injury.

Medics drove two other passengers to a local hospital with injuries that didn’t appear to be life-threatening, the patrol said.

The driver of the Toyota, a 46-year-old Bainbriedge Island man, wasn’t hurt.

Investigators determined that drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to the patrol.
